AGENTS

INTERVIEW
SERIES

Hosted by Simon Sellars

I’ve been fortunate to work across many different industries and sectors: travel, academia, architecture, events, publishing, marketing, higher education, local government, agencies—plus freelance work and consulting and the myriad sectors involved.

It’s a pretty eclectic resume, but there’s been a common factor. My career has been built on listening to and learning from the many outstanding colleagues that have taught me so much about the work I do.

That’s why I’ve started an interview series showcasing the inspiring people I’ve worked with. The springboard for discussion will be our initial collaborations, but really it’s a chance to focus on my guests’ career progressions and the twists and turns they’ve taken to forge outstanding careers.

We’ll talk about everything from the value of PhDs to the changing face of academic research; from the highs and lows of social media management to trends in video production; from the future of UX to the uneasy marriage between content strategists and AI.

EPISODE 1
Felicity Cull: Audiences, Algorithms & Sunsets

Felicity Cull is Head of Digital Content @ Pesel & Carr.

I first met Felicity when we worked together in the Content Marketing Team at La Trobe University in 2016. She originally worked on long-form content and then led the university’s corporate social media team. Felicity has forged a glittering career and it’s been my privilege to learn from her. Her social media knowledge is second to none and her strategic thinking is an amazing asset.

She has the rare ability to distill even the most complex strategies into actionable items that anyone can follow, and she’s an incredible communicator who people want to work with again and again.

The interview contains these chapters:

On the Early Days
On Cultural Studies
On Early Socials
On the Algorithmic Beast
On Core Principles
On Video Pressure
On LinkedIn Lunacy & Beyond
On Pandemics and Socials
On Pandemics and Viral Tweets
On Social Media Bans
